Lyrebird Music · Android & web
Your music, beautifully sung.
Lyrebird replaces YouTube Music with a player for your own music library. Put songs in your Nest Drive and Lyrebird sorts them into albums and artists, with covers, playlists, and playback that keeps going with the screen off.
Version 1.3.0 · Android 8.0 or newer · Free · No ads · Needs a Kestrel account
Features
A music player that’s on your side.
Your library, sorted
MP3, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WAV and OPUS. Song names, artists, albums and covers come from the files themselves.
Playlists
Make as many as you like. They sync between your phone and computer through Nest Drive.
Plays in the background
Lock your phone and keep listening, with controls on the lock screen and your headphones.
Shuffle, repeat, queue
Play next, add to queue, shuffle an album or an artist. Everything you expect.
Bring songs from YouTube
Paste a link to save a song you have the right to keep. Lyrebird finds the artist, warns you about copyrighted music, and an admin checks anything doubtful.
Private, or public if you want
Your music is private by default. Made a song? Share it publicly: an admin listens and checks it for copyright, then everyone on Kestrel Cloud can hear it in the Public tab.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Where does the music come from?
From you. Upload songs with “Add music”, or put them anywhere in your Nest Drive. Folders like Music/Artist/Album/01 Song.mp3 keep things tidy.
How does importing from YouTube work?
Paste a link and Lyrebird checks it first: who the artist is, and whether it looks like copyrighted music (a record label release, an official artist channel, a copyright notice). Copyrighted music gets a clear warning. Anything doubtful, or with an unknown artist, waits for a Kestrel Cloud admin to compare it with YouTube Music and approve it.
Can other people hear my music?
Not unless you choose to. Your songs and playlists are private files in your Nest Drive. If you made a song, tap ⋮ next to it and choose Share publicly. It’s checked against YouTube for copyright, an admin listens to it, and only once they approve it can everyone on Kestrel Cloud hear it in the Public tab. Songs by other artists or record labels are refused.
